We don’t have to end up being bored and not knowing what to do. Here is a list of fun things you can do during your weekend, to help brighten your day.
If you hate exercise routines, then this is definitely not the day to do them. Try out fun activities like volleyball, badminton and table tennis. You can go to a local salsa club and learn some moves. Go to a club to shake off the steam, or jump in pool and do some laps.
Surf the net for funny YouTube videos, watch Netflix shows, listen to TED talks or watch talent shows. There are so many ways to enjoy your time on the net, to kick back and really let loose.
For book lovers, this is your chance and you need to seize it. You can read that book that has been sitting on your shelf for ages or you can catch up on news around the world. Just read whatever interests you.
Visit local spots
There are new restaurants, cafes, gardens, orchards and bistros that pop up all the time. Find a new place to visit. You can decide to visit monuments or tourist sites that are near to you. You can even go with friends and take a bunch of selfies.
This is a good way to spend your weekends and give back to the community. Tons of NGOS constantly advertise and need volunteers; all you need to do is pick one. Check out local libraries, theatres and upcoming events for any shows you may be interested in. British Council usually offers a selection of Shakespearean theatre you can enjoy. You can also go for art conventions, museum exhibitions and music concerts. This is fun way to improve your social life.
Work, work and more work makes you a dull chap. You need to stay sharp by rebooting, and what better way than to take a nap. Perhaps you’ve been overworked and over stressed during the week, sleep in, cuddle under a good duvet and get a good snooze. You can even decide to stay in all day, with a good book or watching movies all day, just as a way to relax.
This is perhaps the yuckiest choice yet, who wants to do chores on a weekend? But it doesn’t have to be annoying. Plug in your earphones, blast your favourite music and get going. Before you know it, your house is sparkling, time has gone and you are no longer bored but instead feeling fulfilled with yourself.
Take this time to catch up on your friends’ life. Call them or pay them a visit. Enjoy their company and update them on the happenings of your life as they do the same to you.
Being alone is not always bad, and you can use this time to really think about your goals, dreams, relationships and character. You can evaluate and assess what needs to be corrected, removed or improved.
