If you are a fan of HD music and fond of headphones or headset, then surely you would love to read the reviews of others before spending a big amount on a headphone or headset.
Obviously, if we are talking about the brand, you won’t get their product at a cheap price and without checking people’s reaction for the same, it is not a good idea to buy. Different people have different opinions about headphones or headset. Someone likes to have a wired headphone or headset, while others prefer a wireless headset headphone. Personally, I do not like wired headphones because they get tangled, when not in use. And, most of the time, when you try to untangle them, they get damaged. I have lost many of my expensive headsets because of this nonsense only. So, keeping that trouble in mind, I recently bought Sony’s wireless headset. Today I will review Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset.
Things that I liked in the Sony WI-C300
The Sony WI-C300 packing is very simple but attractive. I hope you know that most of the Sony’s products are made in Vietnam and they are imported in India.
This headset is packed very beautifully in a white colored carton. I love the way branding is done on both sides of the box.

On one side of the box, you will see the briefs like headset model number, Bluetooth compatibility, and affirmations about high definition music, battery life, and microphone.
On the opposite side, you will be able to see the guidelines for using it.
After unboxing that white carton, you will see another cardboard packing.
In this packing, you will get 5 things. Headset, USB cable (for charging), 4 extra silicon-made earbuds, instruction manual, and a reference guides.
By looking at its packing, you can have an idea of how serious the company is about this product. I have no issues with giving 5 points for the packing.
Let us talk about the main console of the Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset. It looks like a black capsule.
You will see Sony branding on both sides of this console.
On one side of the console, you will be able to see three buttons.
The power button, a minus sign, and a plus sign.
On the second side of the console, you will see 4 other marks; forward, backward, stop or pause, and call answering.
But, these are just mere marks. They have no use. For these (music or call related) options, you will have to use the three main buttons (power button, minus sign and plus sign).
Now let’s talk about the Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset wearing experience.
When I saw it for the first time, my initial opinion was that it is very beautiful and small size. Both earplugs look very beautiful.
On the earplugs, you will see awesome branding done by the Sony company.
You will see L and R for left or right earplug, as well.
There is no problem even after using the earplugs for hours
Apart from the Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset, I also have a headset that came with the phone. But I have experienced a big difference with both of them. Although the two headsets are of the same size, I experienced a pain in my ears after using the headset (that came with the phone) after a certain time. However, it was not the case with Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset.
Even after using for hours, I experienced no such troubles with Sony WI-C300 headset. Therefore, I must say, if you use headsets for extended hours, then the Sony WI-C300 is the only better option. This is my personal experience.

These headsets are battery operated, and you have to charge them before using.
To fully charge them, it takes at least 2 hours and you can charge them with a USB cable (comes with the packing).
You need to plug in the USB cable that came with the headset through the USB slot. You can charge it using your phone charger, or you can also charge is using the USB port on your computer or laptop.
The USB cable that comes with it is of very small size. Therefore, I used my phone’s USB cable to charge it. Its battery backup is also good and once it is fully charged, it lasts for at least 8 hours.
4 Color Variants
Sony WI-300 is available in 4 color variants and they look awesome.
It’s a Bluetooth headset and connects easily to any gadget that has Bluetooth. Whether you use an Android phone or an iPhone, pairing is very easy.
Although you can learn more about pairing from the reference manual, yet I will explain you the procedure through this article, as well.
If you want to experience high definition music, the Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset is a better option.
This headset comes with noise cancellation i.e. you will not hear any other sound, except the music you are listening to.
Things I disliked in the Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset
Bluetooth range is low
Although it has been stated by the company that the Bluetooth range of this headset is 10 meters, however, I have experienced a few incidences of voice breaking, when I used it from a distance.
I believe you need to keep your phone with you all the time. I feel that this range should be a bit more.
No place for AUX cable
There is no space for AUX cable in this headset. In case, the battery of your headset dies, you won’t be able to use this headset until you recharge it.
Its price is much higher than the other wireless Bluetooth headset or headphones. There are many other good options available at such a price.
No Radio Support
After buying such an expensive wireless headset, if you can’t hear radio through the phone, then it is going to be a shocking and bad experience. Using this headset, you won’t be able to access the radio.
How To Use
If you are pairing your Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset to your phone for the first time, then it will be very easy. You have to press and hold the power button on the main console until you see the blue and red light blinking on it.
As soon as you see the blue/red light blinking, you have to open the Bluetooth options on your phone through phone settings. Once open, you will see all the Bluetooth devices available in the range. Refer the below-given photo.
You have to touch the Sony WI-C300 and once done, it will connect.
When connected, you will hear “connected” from a headset.
Keep in mind, at one point, you can only connect this headset to one phone. And, if you want to connect with some other phone, you have to reset the headset. To reset, first, switch off the headset by pressing the power button.
Once its off, then you have to press the power button and minus sign until you see the blue/red light blinking.
This will reset your Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset. After this, you have to repeat the process of pairing (described above).
Music Playing Option
To change music playing options, you have to use plus and minus signs.
For the next song, you have to have to press the plus sign until the song is changed and for the previous song, you have to press the minus sign until done.
You can also answer calls using your Sony WI-C300 wireless stereo headset. To answer or end a call, you have to press the power button.
The call quality is good in this headset, and you can expect a top quality calling experience.
How to change earbuds
As I mentioned above, you will get 4 extra silicon made earbuds in the packing. You can use them according to your needs.
Be very careful, while changing these. When you want to change them, you are not supposed to pull them out, but rotate them in an anti-clock position.
And, when you want to put a new one, all you need to do is, put the earbud on the front of the earplug, and slightly push them inwards.
Overall, my experience with this headset is positive. Although there are a few issues like range and AUX cable, I believe that if you are a die-hard fan of high definition music and Sony, then these two drawbacks are not going to make any difference to your decision of buying this headset.
