Women often use many methods such as breastfeeding, contraceptive pills etc. to avoid unwanted pregnancy. But, many of them don’t know that they can be pregnant even after these methods of avoiding pregnancy. Through this article, we would like to talk about some birth control mistakes people commonly make.
There are a lot of misunderstandings in the public about non-pregnancy after having unprotected sex. Some people believe that if the partner ejaculates outside the vagina, you are free from an unwanted pregnancy. Some people believe that having a shower or peeing after an unprotected sexual intercourse can keep them at a distance from an unwanted pregnancy. But according to experts, none of these methods come with a 100% surety. In addition to these, there are a few other birth control mistakes as follows:
1Break between birth control pills
When you are taking birth control, sometimes your relatives ask you to break in between. This is your biggest mistake. In fact, if you want to take a break in between, you should talk to your doctor about this before doing this. You should understand right after 48 hours of not taking contraceptive pills, your body goes into the same state as it was before taking those birth control measures.
2You do not take contraceptive continuously
I hope you know that you would have to take one contraceptive pill each day until you want to avoid the pregnancy. It is very important that you follow the routine. Not many women know, what are the options, in case, they have missed a pill for some reason. As a result, they have to deal with unwanted pregnancies.
3You use breastfeeding as a method of contraception
This is a common belief among many women, who get pregnant, while they are nursing. They use breastfeeding as a method of contraception. To an extent, this method is somewhat right and technically possible. But there are some other things associated with this technique, which the mothers would not know completely about.
To make this method work, you have to breastfeed exclusively, which means you are not allowed to use the pump. So, you are breastfeeding, menstruation has not recovered, and this contraceptive method can work for up to six months.
But the women to whom this is applicable are in a very small number. As you also know that after the birth of a child you may get pregnant very quickly, so you should take care of other contraceptive methods, rather than rely too much on breastfeeding.
