My eyes had never seen somebody like her. She made me believe in the concept of love at first sight.

Yes! You heard me right. I’m in love with a much older woman.

She was my cousin’s friend and it was at his birthday party that I met her. I had always look up to my cousin since he was elder to me and successful in every which way. He was kind of mentor to me, you can say. I had always liked the kind of friends he used to keep around him – hungry for success, just like him.

I was excited to meet his friends at his party since I thought I’ll get a chance for networking. I was looking out for an internship opportunity in finance. I never knew, my life would go through such a drastic change in just one night. I was introduced to Nandita there and that’s it! I always believed love was a kind of chemical imbalance in mind, but what a wonderful and colorful imbalance it is…

Cut short to the present, Nandita and I are dating since a year now and regardless of our age difference we are enjoying a beautiful relationship. 10 years, yes she is 10 years elder to me! However, isn’t age just a number when it comes to the concept of love? I fell in love with the person she was and not how young she was.

In spite of having this perfect relationship, it has been frowned upon and misunderstood by the society. Is it really that difficult for the society to understand the concept of love? Who said if the woman is younger to man in a relationship, it is less likely to fall apart?

Any marriage or a relationship can fall apart if there is no mutual respect, understanding, and compatibility. We have gone through a lot of social problems, taunts, and criticism by the society in life and I can certainly list down some of them:

Some People Told Me I’ll Never Get To Dominate Her

I have got some genius advice on this, especially from men! You’ll always be treated like a child they said. I was speechless and could only feel pity for their thinking abilities.

We’ll Have Problems In Conceiving

I wonder if making a baby is the only reason behind getting married. Having kids in life is totally a couple’s choice. Even though there are many advanced medical ways of conceiving a child, you can always adopt! Anyway, whether or not having a child is not anybody’s business except the couple.

Time Will Come When She Will Look Much Older Than You

Seriously? haven’t you heard that women get better with time? Jokes apart, when you are in love, you are in love with that soul and the soul has no age!

You Guys Don’t Look A Perfect Match

Regardless of what your eyes see, we know we are a perfect match! When I look back and analyze what attracted me towards Nandita, I feel it was our compatibility that did all the work.

We shared similar interests and passions in life, what else do you seek in your partner? I like the way she is respectful and sensible in life. I like how nurturing she can be and a strong, independent lady at the same time.

In these many months of our relationship, not even once I had to go through any teenage girl drama! just kidding, but it’s so true! I go head-over-heels again and again whenever we indulge in an intelligent conversation.

It is wonderful to look at the world through her eyes and she loves the new and fresh perspectives I give to her life.

The unreasonable norms of the society didn’t matter to us and we are going strong – stronger than ever before.

Love knows no age and the society needs to deal with this fact!

SAY WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY.
