You think drinking something that is nothing more than just another form of water meant to be thrown on plants deserve the name of tea?

Normally tea is an elixir that has many health benefits, but you cannot give the name and reputation of tea to all the beverages that you heard. To clarify this confusion, found below the types of teas that one should never drink.

Detox Teas

In the composition of detox teas, there is an ingredient that is recommended only in certain circumstances. Senna leaves irritate the intestines and have a laxative effect.

This is beneficial for the body if you constipate or are about to have surgery on the digestive system.

However, regular consumption of teas with these ingredients is not recommended. Short-term detox teas cleanse your intestines, but unfortunately, these drinks dehydrate the body and remove healthy nutrients that body needs.

Comfrey tea

For people prone to an injury, a cup of comfrey tea may seem like a good idea. Comfrey tea is known for its beneficial effects when it comes to healing wounds, bruises, even broken bones.

Also, this tea is a boon when it is about digestive problems, although it is not beneficial for each body part. Pyrrolizidine comfrey contains alkaloids that when metabolized and consumed in wrong quantities, can cause severe damage to the liver.

The risk of these injuries varies depending on when the plant was harvested and what part of the plant is used for tea. Because of the high risk posed, comfrey plant is banned in the United States and many other countries.

Most Herbal Teas

Apart from tea of ginger, hibiscus, and mint, whose health benefits to consumers have been recognized clinically, other herbal teas should not be on your list.

Perceived positive effects after consumption of infusions with other plants can be, at best, a placebo effect.

It is shocking yet true that most of the natural teas are an outcome of non-traditional medicines and scientific formulas.

In case you are having these consistently, do keep in mind that it will not help you with any of your health problems, but will introduce you to few more.

SAY WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY.
