How to insert female condom

  1. Open the package carefully and you will find the inner ring (lower), which was at the closed end of the condom.
  2. A good idea is to squeeze between the thumb and middle finger and be seated on the upper edge of the ring to better control during insertion into the vagina.
  3. Find a comfortable position for placing the condom.
  4. You can stand with one foot up on a chair or sit with legs apart or you can be in lying position with legs apart.
  5. With your opposite hand, hold the female condom.
  6. Loosen the vagina lips and carefully enter the ring into the vaginal opening.
  7. Using your index finger, push the inner ring into the vagina as inside as possible.
  8. Make sure, you are not twisting the condom in any case.
  9. The outer ring should remain outside the vulva about 2 centimeters.
  10. Be careful that during intercourse, the penis must not slip between the condom and vagina.

How to remove female condom

  1. To remove the female condom, you must first twist the outer ring.
  2. This way you can make sure that the sperm stays inside the condom.
  3. Take it slowly to avoid any accident.
  4. And do not forget that all this is done before you stand up.
  5. And, I don’t think I need to tell that like male condoms, female condoms are also not reused. It must be thrown in the trash, and not the toilet.

4Disadvantages of Female Condoms

  1. It may slip into the vagina during intercourse.
  2. It can move.
  3. It can reduce sensations of intercourse like a male condom.
  4. The inner ring may irritate the penis.
  5. The outer ring can irritate the vulva.
  6. Vaginal irritation may occur.
  7. Some women find it uncomfortable.
  8. It may not be suitable for women who do not feel comfortable when it touches their genitals.
  9. Because the outer ring is visible outside the vagina, some women may feel self-conscious.

Most female condoms are already lubricated and are made to make insertion easier. However,  if you need more lubrication, you can use any lubricant inside the female condom or on the penis. Female condoms are 95 percent effective in preventing pregnancy when used consistently and correctly

Regarding protection against STDs, female condoms offer the same level of protection as a male condom.
